UPDATE
ON GRIFFIN FOUNDER IN NEED OF KIDNEY FOR
TRANSPLANT
Griffin
Old Boy Brian Bourke is in need of a kidney
donor as his are failing. Many of you older
Griffins may know Brian, but for those who
don't, he along with other Griffins Doc
Kelly, Mike Elliott, John Carmody, and Tom
Powers founded the Chicago Griffins over
This is a recent update letter from him.
If you or anyone you know can be of any
help please contact him at his contact info
below.

Dear
Griffins,
As
most of you know from the Griffin Website,
I am need of a kidney transplant.
Both
Jerry Stutz and Dave May have come forward
to offer me a kidney. They both got very
far along in the testing process. First
Jerry was knocked out for a health reason
he was unaware of, then Dave May stepped
forward, but he too had a health issue that
wouldn't allow him to donate. I can't thank
those two guys enough for what they tried
to do for me.
So
I am back to square one. If any of you are
so inclined, or know anyone who might be
interested in donating, please contact me.
Just give me a call and I will put you in
touch with the transplant center.
Thanks
for even thinking of it.

UPDATE
ON GRIFFIN OLD BOY JIM CAMPBELL'S LATEST
BOOK
Griffin
Old Boy Jim Campbell gave a speech on his
new book Ghost Moutain at the Pritzker Military
Library in Chicago on Jan. 10th. He gave
credit to "Chicken" George Houde
for accompanying him on his hiking expedition
across New Guinea. A podcast of that speech
can be accessed by clicking here.
It's a fascinating talk, plus you get a
bit more info about his book "The Ghost
Mountain Boys: Their Epic March and the
Terrifying Battle for New Guinea—The Forgotten
War of the South Pacific". The website
regarding the book can be found here.
In
addition, check out the video
clip from the documentary on Outside
Magazine's website as well. You'll see "Chicken"
George working with Jim on the filming of
the documentary.
