Griffins at Firehouse 7's this Saturday

The Griffins will be entering 2 sides in this weekend's Firehouse 7's tournament. The tournament will be held at the Chicago Blaze Pitch in Lemont. The A side will be in the Men's Qualifier pool matches, and the B side will be in the Men's Premier pool matches.

the schedule is as follows for Saturday.

8 am – Griffins Bs vs Riot A’s
9:40 am – Griffins B’s vs. Swords
11 am – Griffins B’s vs. Rhinos B’s

Men’s Qualifier side matches

12:40 pm – Griffins A’s vs. Bloomington Crash
2:20 pm – Griffins A’s vs. WRC Men
4 pm – Griffins A’s vs. CARP

Premier and Qualifier playoffs will be in the course of the afternoon.

It's a full day of rugby - so come on out and support the guys this weekend!

 

Sevens Season

Sevens practices are on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Montrose, est of LSD, near the soccer field - practice starts at 7 pm. The 2013 7's tournament schedule is now up - check it out under "Summer 7's" in the Schedule section and mark your calendars.

 

Chicago Wapiti Youth Clinic in progress

Registration is open for the 2013 Season. The rate for 2013 is $135 per player.

In addition to our non-contact program on Sundays at Revere Park, Wapiti have entered at least two squads in the Illinois Youth Rugby Association middle school competition. Teams consist of both 5/6 graders and 7/8 graders. iYRA currently has this set up as a co-ed program. As a requisite of participation in the tackle program, attendance at a weekly training session is required. Training takes place on Fridays at 5:00 at Montrose & Simmonds (at the lakefront).
